For our digital artefact, we decided to make an podcast episode on the topic of women in sports. We chose this topic as we all have an interest in sports and as girls know how hard it is to keep other girls our age and younger interested in sports. This project highlights the success women have had in sports and what is possible for any girl in their sport of their choice, we all picked a female athlete we consider inspiring and decided to research their lives in more detail. For our Pecha Kucha PowerPoint, we went into more detail into the topic of women in sport and the other problems, like the pay gap and stereotypes etc. but we decided to focus our podcast on just the athletes to keep it within the allotted time frame.
The researching of this topic was very straightforward. The athletes we chose are so dominate in their sports there was a huge amount of information out there on them. The researching of the other topics in our PowerPoint were easy to find too as they are topics constantly being talked about in the media, as people try to gain more interest and attention to women’s sport in the media.
We chose a podcast as our artefact as it felt more suitable than a video and we decided we could use the things we learned on Bandlab in week 6 to put the podcast together.
In this project, we all did our work assigned to us and worked well together. everyone pulled their weight throughout. My job was to research Katie Taylor for the podcast. I also volunteered to put together the podcast on Bandlab on behalf of the group, but everyone was equally as eager to do whatever work needed to be done.
